Vigil For Family Man Killed At Work

Families Against Corporate Killers calls for support at a vigil for the family of Mark Wright at the Inquest which is scheduled to run from 2nd February to 10th February 2009.  We will stand outside the court with photos of  Mark, FACK posters and banners on  Thursday 5th February.

Mark was killed at Deeside Metals, Chester on 13th April 2005 when he was instructed to crush containers which still held volatile substances. A fire was ignited which engulfed him and he died later in hospital.

Mark’s parents Dorothy and Douglas Wright, have been fighting to ensure their son’s death is properly investigated by the CPS, the police and HSE, and that all the relevant facts and people are questioned to ensure the full truth as to how he came to be killed are revealed.

The Wrights have faced many problems with the criminal justice system and the coroners court which has exacerbated their grief at the traumatic death of their son, Andrea’s husband and Leigh and Megan’s father.

They hope that the many questions still unanswered will begin to be answered during the Inquest.

At this stage the HSE has not decided whether or not to prosecute for health and safety offences.

The CPS decided not to take a manslaughter prosecution but this is being reviewed.

Vigil details:
