I have been in BT for 34 years, I became a union safety rep 10 years ago in Preston when I was working there, being involved with the engineering committee as chairperson.

I transferred to Morecambe and became a USR in Morecambe telephone exchange, becoming a safety co-ordinator last year for South Cumbria and North Lancs.

I work for BT wholesale on access electronics planning which I have only just come on to, was originally on wideband planning. I am the treasurer for this branch as well.

In my spare time I am involved with scouting as district multi media manager as well as special needs advisor, in the county I am a safety for scouting advisor with the remit on risk assessment and fire safety including the new regs that came in this month. I am also a safety steward with Morecambe Football Club with a specialist roll as being an first aider.
