A row at the Labour Party Conference has broken out this morning as the Conference Arrangements Committee report for today's business, left out a Trade Union motion against the Winter Fuel Allowance removal from all Pensioners, unless they are in receipt of pension credit payments.
Whilst a point of order rased was rejected as being not a point of order, two TUs, CWU and Unison, then got up to ask a question on the issue.
Tony Kearns, CWU DGS then requested that the CAC explains
why Grenfell motion by the FBU was also not timetabled as it should have been for today, and again the Unions raised a question asking for an explanation.
Today's CAC report was then put to Conference with delegates agreeing the report, but with some commenting negatively from the floor of conference.
One of the most vexatious elements of this, was the fact that the media had, prior to the delegates being advised; been
briefed that it was unlikely that the motions concerned are will be debated at this weeks conference at all.
The tone from the top-table and within speeches, was some might say, rather derogatory to those who may have different opinions than the MPs and NEC.
The phrase, 'nay sayers' and the repeated reference to the Labour Party no longer being a party of protest, but a proper political party was repeated by several speakers.
When it came to the speech from Rachel Reeves, she made it clear that there will be no change to her decision over the Winter Fuel Allowance, instead she spent only a few words justifying her decision.
